Overachiever or couch potato? Choose the best workout for your personality..

  • Overachiever : You’re so overbooked that when you do squeeze workouts into your Blackberry, you tend to overdo it. Try more frequent workouts at at moderate pace rather than sporadic and intense sessions. Try this programme: one day of lower-body weight training; one day of Pilates and cardio; one day of upper-body weight training; and a yoga class at week’s end to de-stress.
  • Procrastinator : Your mantra? “I’ll work out tomorrow!” Knowing others are counting on you could help with your commitment problems. Try this weekly schedule: one workout with a personal trainer; one circuit-training workout on your own; and two group classes (spinning and Pilates)
  • Couch potato : Your idea of a workout? Channel flipping. Focus on the payoffs of working out instead of the work. Start with a simple routine. Work out three days a week, with alternating 30-minute sessions of cardio and weight training.
