  • After The Dark Knight broke all records at the box office shortly after its release, Depp is being tipped to be the next Batman villain. Producers are convinced that the role of the Riddler is perfect for Depp (I do agree!!), Johnny’s a pro. In the 1960s, the Riddler was played on the small screen by Frank Gorshin and by Jim Carrey in 1995 movie Batman Forever. Michael, who played Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth told MTV: “I was with a Warner Bros. executive and I said, ‘Are we going to make another one?’ They said, ‘Yeah’. I said, ‘How the hell are we going to top Heath Ledger as the Joker? And he sayd, “I’ll tell you how you top Heath – Johnny Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin. Depp recently described the prospect of playing The Riddler as “fun”. He said, “I heard about that. It seems like it’d be a fun gig for a while, yeah.”
